Welcome to the zerozero DAO!
The zerozero DAO is the cornerstone for all creator communities. Through the zerozero DAO, creator currencies are brought to life by their communities and sustained by their members. The zerozero DAO underpins our entire ecosystem, giving members a key into every creator world through the zerozero coin.
The zerozero DAO exists because decentralized governance is critical to building and managing a global community—and therefore critical to the success of the zerozero ecosystem.
The zerozero Improvement Proposal (ZIP) process will allow zerozero DAO members to make decisions regarding governance rules, the Ecosystem Fund allocations, projects, partnerships and beyond. zerozero DAO membership is open to all $00 holders (more on this below and in the glossary).
The zerozero DAO manages the Ecosystem Fund. All of the decisions regarding the Ecosystem Fund management are made through ZIPs submitted by the community.
The zerozero Foundation is the steward of the zerozero DAO. Its sole purpose is to execute the $00 tokenholder community’s decisions.
The goal of the zerozero Foundation is to steward the growth and development of the zerozero ecosystem in a fair and inclusive way. It utilizes the Ecosystem Fund, which is controlled by a multisig wallet and directs funds as instructed by the zerozero DAO. It also provides an infrastructure for zerozero holders to collaborate through open and permissionless governance processes.
The zerozero Foundation facilitates decentralized and community-led governance. It is tasked with administering the decisions of the zerozero DAO and is responsible for day-to-day administration, book-keeping, project management and other tasks that ensure the DAO community’s ideas have the support they need.
Why Discourse
Discourse is an open source discussion platform where the Zerozero DAO community can discuss Zerozero Improvement Proposal (ZIP) ideas. Snapshot was chosen as a voting tool that:
- doesn’t require gas payment
- ensures transparency
- expands governance participation to all holders of zerozero
Snapshot is a simple voting interface that allows users to signal sentiment off-chain. Votes on snapshot are weighted by the number of 00 delegated to the address used to vote. Snapshot is an off-chain gasless multi-governance client with easy to verify and hard to contest results.
Categories
1. Governance
Proposals to change how the zerozero DAO manages the ZIP decision process. The initial Governance ZIP will outline the proposed ZIP process.
2. Transfer
Proposals to transfer tokens from the Ecosystem Fund to a given address
3. DEX Governance
Proposals related to the zerozero DEX including code upgrades, new features, liquidity mining, , adding and removing token pairs and anything related to the zerozero DEX management.
4. Informational
Proposals for general guidelines or information to the community.
5. Treasury Management
Proposals to define the management of the DAO’s treasury. The DAO’s treasury may contain $00 tokens as well as all the LP tokens linked to the initial auction on the zerozero DEX.
If you are unsure of which category to post in, simply submit your post to General and a moderator will help categorize it.
Proposal Process
Discourse is used for idea generation, community discussion, and the preparation of the ZIP Draft.
- All Topics submitted in Discourse must be approved by a moderator before it appears to the community. If it is rejected, you (the author) will be contacted by a moderator directly. If approved, the ZIP idea will receive comments for 7 days.
- When the Topic is closed, a moderator will message the author of the Topic directly in Discourse to put together the ZIP Draft.
- The ZIP Draft will go through the moderation, analysis, and review process done by a team of moderators. If approved, it moves on to Board Approval (Phase 4) and becomes a Pending ZIP.
- The Board will check that this proposal is aligned with the zerozero DAO’s best interests and future developments. If approved, the Pending ZIP becomes a Live ZIP. Moderators will update the community on the status of the Topics in the comments after the Topic is closed.
- Approved ZIPs will be put on Snapshot for vote. Once live on Snapshot, Live ZIPs are open to voting until Weekly Voting Close, which is at 10 AM ET on the Sunday following their release.
Voting Process
All Live ZIPs will be posted on Snapshot for vote on the zerozero DAO Space. A summary of the voting process can be found below.
New ZIPs are posted every week on Monday at 10AM ET and close the following Sunday at 10AM ET.
zerozero DAO members may delegate their votes to another zerozero DAO member. Delegation must occur prior to the posting of the ZIP on Snapshot.
